Over the last 24 years, the college has made all-     round progress and is now acclaimed as one of the best engineering colleges in this part of the country
Since its inception in 1983 till July 2000, the college was affiliated on a permanent basis to University of Pune. In July 2000, the Government of India, on the recommendations of the UGC and AICTE has included this college as a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth University. This college has thus the approval and recognition of the Government of India, AICTE, UGC and the Government of Maharashtra

As per the section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, the Deemed Universities have the same status as the State and Central statuary Universities. So the degrees and diplomas, which Bharati Vidyapeeth University awards to its students, have the same status and recognition as those awarded by the State and Central statuary Universities.

College of Engineering under Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University was established by Dr. Patangrao Kadam in September 1983. This college has truly transcended all boundaries to establish itself as a premier institute where “Supremacy of technology – enabled Learning”, empowers the students to pursue their passion to realize their ambitions, irrespective of their geographical locale.
The college is aligned to the mission “Social Transformation through Dynamic Education ” and is therefore committed to attain global standards where knowledge is the key driving force in the rapidly changing globalized economy.
The college became a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University in June 2000 and was thereafter accessed and accredited to grade “A” by NAAC further, all of its programmes are also accredited by NBA.

This University has come into being as per the provisions in the Act of the University Grants Commission (Section 3 of the UGC Act of 1956) and by the notification of Government of India. It has the same legal status as that of other statutory universities in India. The degrees, diplomas and certificates awarded by it have the approval of the Government of India, Maharashtra and other States, as well as, the UGC and the AICTE. They are also approved and accepted by other statutory universities on reciprocal basis.
All the colleges of professional education Medical, Dental, Nursing, Ayurved, Laws, Engineering etc. and the degrees awarded by them have recognition and approval of their respective statutory councils, such as Medical Council of India, Dental Council of India,Indian Nursing Council, Bar Council of India, All India Council for Technical Education etc. The Bharti Vidyapeeth UNIVERSITY has been admitted by the Association of Indian Universities as its permanent member. The university is also a member of Association of Commonwealth universities.

Out of total seats, 20% of intake in each course is reserved for admission in management category candidates. Candidates desirous of applying for seats of management category should make separate application on a separate form for management category available in the office of Registrar, BharatiVidyapeeth University, Pune.  

Eligibility Criteria for admission to First Year of B-Tech Courses

The candidate seeking admission to any of these courses should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (HSC) or the Indian School Certificate Examination (ISC) or any other examination equivalent to 10+2 or HSC examination of any recognized Board/University from any school /college situated in India.

The minimum qualification for admissions in Degree Engineering Programme is that the candidate should have passed in 10+2 (qualifying) examination with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of the following optional subject.
a) Chemistry b) Bio-Technology c) Computer Science d) Biology

The candidate must have obtained at least 50 percent marks in Physics, Mathematics and one optional subject taken together at the qualifying exam i.e. 10+2 / HSC/Equivalent. (For SC/ST candidates 45 percent).

Candidates who are likely to appear or who have appeared for qualifying examination i.e. HSC etc. but whose results have not been declared will also be considered eligible to appear for CET (Engineering), provided they have offered the above mentioned subjects in the said examinations. However they should produce mark-sheet of HSC at time of counselling. The candidates who fail to submit the mark- sheet of HSC at the time of counselling will not be considered eligible.
