Maharaja Surajmal Institute Of Technology(MSIT)Maharaja Surajmal Institute Of Technology under GGSIP University and AICTE approved is ideally located in the Institutional area of  Janakpuri, New Delhi. It has a campus spread over eight acres of land with beautiful eco-friendly surroundings. Institute was earlier operating from four storey building of 6279 sq.m of built up area. Recently it has been shifted to a more spacious seven storeyed building with built up area of 9660 sq.m The institute has over a short span of time acquired and developed impressive infrastructure, expertise and resources for imparting high quality engineering education.

Teaching

The institute has a well qualified and experienced faculty. The most contemporary teaching methodology at MSIT provides ample opportunity for students to develop into all round professionals by keeping abreast of the ever changing technologies. The Institute aims to achieve and excel the high standards set by premiere technical institutions of the country. The traditional classroom teaching is supplemented by regular tests, tutorials, group discussions, extensive lab work, projects, seminars and industrial exposure by way of industry visits and summer training. Eminent academicians & professionals are invited as visting faculty to teach & guide specific courses. While teaching engineering fundamentals, keeping pace with the evolving definitions and concepts, a sincere effort is also made to cover the latest in each subject area.The classroom atmosphere is synergetic with interactive and participative sessions. This makes learning proactive and instills in the students a sense of team spirit, responsibility and professional integrity. It helps in building a healthy student-faculty bond, which develops students to their fullest potential and harnesses the best in the teachers.

Maharaja Surajmal had the same reverence for all the religions. He believed that humanity is the only religion of man. He visualized “India as one nation” and devoted his life in forging national integration. Maharaja Surajmal nurtured intellectual vigour that reflects a fusion of our heritage and contemporary insights.

Maharaja Surajmal considered farmers as the most important section of the society and had a lot of respect for them. He personally identified the problems of the farmers and introduced reforms to rectify them.

He expanded his kingdom from Bharatpur to include Agra, Aligarh, Ballabgarh, Hodal, Bulandshahar, Dholpur, Etah, Hathras, Meerut, Mathura, Rohtak, gurgaon, Farukh Nagar, Mewar and Rewari. Through out his life, he kept on fighting against social injustice, racial discrimination, superstitions and factitious groups and sacrificed his life on 25th Dec.1763 in Shahdara, Delhi.

Surajmal Memorial Education Society was founded in 1972 at Janakpuri to emulate the great qualities of Maharaja Surajmal with an aim to impart quality education in rural as well as urban areas. Academic Programmes were started with the introduction of certificate and Diploma courses in various technical streams in 1982.' Maharaja Surajmal Institue of Technology' was estalblished in 2001 with the approval of AICTE and is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in Delhi for Providing B.Tech Degree since 2000-01.

The Society

Inspired by the life and ideals of Maharaja Surajmal, a great Indian patriot and enlightened ruler of Bharatpur during the eighteenth century, Surajmal Memorial Education Society was established in 1972 and registered under Societies Registration Act 1860. The main aim of the Society is to disseminate quality education in the technical and professional areas, especially those beneficial to the students from rural and hitherto educationally deprived regions of our country.

To achieve these objectives, the Surajmal Memorial Education Society has established Maharaja Surajmal Institute at Janak Puri, New Delhi. The membership of Surajmal Memorial Education Society is spread over all parts of India. However, the main component is from the states of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan. Under the leadership and guidance of its President, Shri S.P. Singh, the Society looks forward to expand its educational programmes in the newly emerging areas and to serve as a participant in the efforts to develop appropriate human resources for the country’s development.
